DPRA was contracted by the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) to undertake the Socio-Economic Baseline Study about the potential future development of a possible greenfield airport facility on the Pickering Lands. For the development of such an airport, the GTAA initiated a study to identify socio-economic baseline conditions of the Pickering lands and surrounding areas to develop a complete understanding of the historical and current socio-economic conditions (2002) in and around the Pickering Airport Lands. The collection and description of socio-economic baseline conditions is intended to serve as a foundation for future decision-making processes and to provide a frame of reference for an Airport Master Plan.
