Recent land claim agreements call for the implementation of a program to monitor the cumulative impacts of land and water uses on the environment in the Mackenzie Valley. DPRA helped design and facilitate a workshop in Inuvik, NWT, on the proposed Mackenzie Valley Cumulative Impact Monitoring Program. The workshop included 35 to 40 participants from Gwich'in and Sahtu organizations/boards, federal and territorial government agencies, community representatives, and individuals involved in relevant existing monitoring programs. A resource binder was prepared for participants.
