DPRA was contracted by the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) to undertake a Socio-Economic Baseline Study regarding the potential future development of a possible greenfield airport facility on the Pickering Lands. An MS Access Database was developed to manage and organize the site vicinity and on-site inventory of social and economic conditions compiled by DPRA. The database included a switchboard, user-friendly GUIs for data entry, query and report generation. It was extensively customized in VBA. All inventory points are associated with a set of UTM coordinates. The data is extracted based on specific criteria, imported into the GIS and overlaid onto existing map layers.
