DPRA is a Founding Reporter of the Climate Registry

DPRA is a Founding Reporter of the Climate Registry -

DPRA has become a Founding Reporter of The Climate Registry by being among the first to join the organization. The Climate Registry is a non-profit organization established to measure and publicly report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a common, accurate and transparent manner consistent across industry sectors and borders. Thirty nine U.S. states, six Canadian provinces, three Native American tribes, two Mexican states and the District of Columbia are the founders of the organization.

Incorporated March 2007 in Washington, DC, The Climate Registry provides accurate and transparent measurement of GHG emissions and ensures consistency of measurement metrics across industry sectors and borders. The Climate Registry accounting infrastructure supports both voluntary and regulatory programs. Joining the Climate Registry was a natural fit for DPRA because its environmental consulting practice assists public and private sector organizations in the identification, measurement, and reduction of GHG emissions.

A forerunner in environmental, management, and logistics consulting, DPRA has demonstrated environmental stewardship on several fronts by voluntarily committing to measure, independently verify, and publicly report its GHG emissions on an annual basis utilizing The Climate Registry General Reporting Protocol. The protocol is based on the internationally recognized GHG measurement standards of the World Resources Institute and World Business Council on Sustainability.

Joining The Climate Registry is one of the many steps DPRA is taking to become more sustainable. DPRA recently formed an “Environmental Best Practices Committee” to explore ways in which we, as a company, can reduce our environmental footprint. The Committee is drafting a set of “best practices” for our day-to-day business operations. As a business, we want to ensure that we are being good stewards of the environment.
