Best Management Practices (BMP)

BMP provides an organization with the means to manage its business practices and policies inside the TIMS database. These practices, policies, or rules (e.g., regulations, environmental guidelines, productivity practices, etc.) are then applied to the database to create and modify new objects or schedule new events.

Our BMP tools:

  • "manage" the management practices/rules in database tables
  • read and interpret the management practice from the BMP tables
  • schedule events based on the management practice
  • create new database objects based on the management practice.

The BMP engine can automate most of the standardized operations in the forest lifecycle. The BMP engine applies management practices to generate events and objects that are good candidates for review by the forester.

BMP frees the forester from the tedious task of manually searching the database to ensure that the management practices have been used.
