DPRA applies Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to expand our records management capabilities. We use GIS to reference and analyze data related to specific geographic locations, as well as to develop and deploy desktop and web-based map applications for virtually any business sector.

For example, DPRA provides the full gamut of GIS services to the U.S. Department of the Army's Rocky Mountain Arsenal in support of on-going environmental restoration efforts at the site. We developed Rocky Mountain Arsenal’s GIS database, as well as its chemical analysis environmental database, and continue to maintain, enhance, and integrate these extensive collections of geospatial and environmental data.

Based on these databases, DPRA also provides Rocky Mountain Arsenal with cartographic design and production services, image processing and integration services, and a wide variety of geospatial analyses and modeling capabilities. All of these functions are packaged into both desktop and web-based map applications that give our clients powerful, user-friendly tools to view, query, update, analyze, and map the data.
